Scott Gosling
A little about me.
What inspired you to become a Support Coordinator?
Having previously worked within the NDIS sector, I wanted the opportunity to provide a more personalised service to the people I support.
Becoming a Support Coordinator has allowed me to build stronger relationships with participants, understand their individual needs, and help them navigate the NDIS in a way that is tailored to their goals and circumstances.
How long have you been working in this space, and what do you enjoy most about it?
I've been working in the disability sector for almost four years.
What I enjoy most about this role is helping participants achieve their personal goals. It's incredibly rewarding to see people make progress, overcome challenges, and reach milestones that are meaningful to them.
What types of support services do you specialise in or have experience with?
I have experience working with legislative requirements and ensuring NDIS documentation and processes are completed in line with NDIS standards.
This experience has given me a strong understanding of compliance and the importance of ensuring participants receive the right supports while navigating the NDIS with confidence.
Can you tell me about a particularly rewarding or memorable experience you've had while assisting someone?
One of the most rewarding moments in my career was supporting a participant through a particularly stressful NDIS review process.
Hearing that they had received a positive outcome after what had been a difficult and uncertain experience was incredibly rewarding. Knowing I had played a part in helping them achieve that outcome reinforced why I enjoy working in this field.
What do you believe are the most important qualities for a Support Coordinator to have?
I believe the most important qualities a Support Coordinator can have are empathy, compassion, integrity, and the ability to genuinely listen.
Building trust, understanding each participant's unique circumstances, and advocating for their needs are all essential to providing quality support.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work? Any hobbies or interests you'd like to share?
Outside of work, you'll usually find me playing AFL, spending time with my family, relaxing at the beach, or keeping active at the gym.
