A little about me.

What inspired you to become a Support Coordinator? Starting my career in education across various sectors such as early childhood, mainstream primary, and Special Education in both mainstream and Special Schools, I identified a gap where I could make a difference. Observing the challenges faced by friends and family dealing with disabilities, I realised that my skills and qualities could significantly contribute to assisting individuals with disabilities in reaching their maximum potential.

How long have you been working in this space, and what do you enjoy most about it? With over a decade of experience in the disability sector, I’ve transitioned into Support Coordination in recent years. What I love most about working in this field is the opportunity to provide personalised support, making a significant difference in the lives of individuals.

What types of support services do you specialise in or have experience with? I bring substantial experience in working with children, the education system, and employing differentiation techniques to foster inclusivity and equality for all. My specialisation lies in establishing a holistic care team approach for my clients, where providers collaborate to ensure the best outcomes for individuals.

Are there any resources or programs you find Interesting and beneficial for a lot of your participants? Taking a tailored approach involves listening to the needs of participants, researching various options, and recommending resources and programs for client engagement. This method ensures that the programs are personalised, advantageous, and appealing to each individual client.

What do you believe are the most important qualities for a Support Coordinator to have? My caring nature has been cultivated through extensive experience in the education sector, where I found fulfillment working closely with students facing diverse disabilities. I achieve outcomes by fostering positive relationships with those I support, actively listening, and collaborating to accomplish their goals. I firmly believe that, with the appropriate support, everyone can reach their utmost potential. My passion lies in aiding others, and I take pride in being organised, trustworthy, kind, and compassionate.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work? Any hobbies or interests you’d like to share?Outside of work I spend quality time with my family – husband and 3 children. We live on the Gold Coast and enjoy time on the water, at the beach and going on adventures.

Tell us something we don’t know, but need to know? I am a very talkative person, who often overshares, but this is because I quickly build close connections with the people I surround myself with, and easily trust.
