A further $2 million in Commonwealth funding has been committed to progress the National Autism Strategy.

The National Autism Strategy has received an additional $2 million in Commonwealth funding. This funding will support the research efforts of Autism CRC, a national cooperative research organization, and assist the Federal Government in developing the Strategy.

The Strategy aims to improve life outcomes for individuals on the autism spectrum and those with other neurodevelopmental conditions. It seeks to enable people with autism to access opportunities that align with their goals and aspirations throughout their lives.

The Strategy will encompass various areas, including education, vocation, and healthcare, with the intention of positively influencing systems and practices for individuals with autism and their families.

Minister for Social Services, the Hon Amanda Rishworth MP, emphasized the importance of collaboration with everyday Australians with autism to ensure the Strategy’s development is inclusive and reflective of their needs.
